Footscray West Primary School

The Footscray West Primary School Upgrade delivers a dynamic, multi-purpose facility that brings together sport, learning and community connection. At its core is a competition-grade multipurpose court designed to support high-intensity use while seamlessly accommodating assemblies, events and local engagement. Carefully integrated acoustic treatments, sports lighting and a timber sprung floor system create a high-performance environment that complements, rather than disrupts, adjacent learning spaces. Framed by landscaped gathering zones and sheltered verandas, the facility fosters movement, interaction and a strong sense of belonging—supporting both the daily rhythm of the school and its broader community role.

Project Scope:

This project was driven by a clear objective: to deliver a high-performing, inclusive and enduring education facility that meets the evolving needs of students, staff and the wider community. The scope included a multipurpose court, DDA-compliant amenities, accessible change facilities, a high-capacity canteen, and specialist music and food technology spaces. Each element was designed to enhance functionality, support flexible learning and enable efficient operation during large school gatherings, while prioritising accessibility, durability and long-term value.
