When we are recruiting for a cadet or graduate position, if we have received your details, we will get in touch with you to see if you are interested in applying. We will also advertise on our website and social media accounts when applications are open.

We will review the applications we receive, then conduct a first round of interviews with short listed candidates.

If successful with your first interview, you will be invited to meet with the team in person for a final interview.

We will conduct reference checks and an offer will be made to the successful candidates.

For cadets this offer is usually for a part time role, and for graduates usually a two year full time contract, with a view to moving to permanent employment at the end of the Trainee Program.

Our program is based on rotating through different parts of the business, spending approximately six months in each area. This can vary depending on what is going on in each part of the business at the time. However, you will be kept up to date about what is coming up next.

You will be assigned a Program supervisor for the duration of your two year Trainee Program.  They will keep in touch with you over the course of the program, be involved in check-ins and will be available for you to contact for guidance and support, and assist with any questions you may have.

You will be assigned a mentor (usually an experienced, autonomous Contract Administrator or Site Manager) who you will work with and provide support on their project.  Your mentor will be responsible for helping you learn on the job and will join regular check-ins.

Our People, Culture and Change Manager will also have oversight of your training and can assist with any questions you have regarding the program.

There is a structured Trainee Program that you will work through in our Learning Management System, including on-site experience, mentorship, technical skill development, project rotations, workshops, performance feedback, networking opportunities and career development advice. 

For those who demonstrate the values and behaviours we expect, and have performed well during the time working with us as a cadet or graduate, there is a real likelihood of ongoing employment opportunities at BowdenCorp.

This will be discussed with each cadet or graduate as their time with BowdenCorp progresses.

Our Trainee Program has the following eligibility criteria:

• Studying or graduated from a trade, building or construction related qualification

•  

  Based in Melbourne or Geelong and willing to travel to meet project demands

•  

  Full working rights to work in Australia

•  

  You are eager to learn, open to feedback and ready to get hands-on!

You will get the chance to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting, whilst participating in an ongoing learning program.

Practical and technical knowledge you learn during the program will assist you to operate effectively upon completion of the program.
