Waste & RecyclingWaste & Recycling
We ensure that your project is delivered with minimal waste and emissions, and environmentally friendly products that optimise a building's life cycle.
From early risk assessments, we tailor a comprehensive environmental management plan for each project to identify and provide risk minimisation and management solutions for expected environmental impacts arising from construction.
With the goal of minimising waste and directing usable resources away from landfill, BowdenCorp has also adopted a policy of reuse and recycling in the workplace. Currently, 90% of waste produced by BowdenCorp is recycled, and we prioritise recyclable materials in all our operations. Our aim is to have 95% of our waste recycled by 2025.
Environmental ImpactEnvironmental Impact
With a keen focus on promoting environmental awareness, minimising waste, preventing pollution, and limiting our impact on the natural, built, and cultural environment, all our work complies with Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) guidelines and environmental legislation.
We are certified to the standard ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems. We also foster a workplace culture of respect for the environment, while reinforcing the environmental obligations of our employees and contractors.
BowdenCorp complies with all legislative, contractual, and regulatory requirements concerning our environmental impact, and we maintain an environmental management system that guides all our business and decision-making processes. We also continually collect and analyse performance indicators and incident data in order to identify opportunities for improvement and respond to any environmental concerns that may arise.
Social ImpactSocial Impact
We regularly participate in a range of programs and partnerships so we can make a positive social impact within our business, the construction industry, and throughout society as a whole.
We achieve this through regular donations to projects, causes, and community organisations with a focus on health, sports, youth, and education. We also engage a range of health and wellbeing initiatives, including:
- Bluehats Suicide Prevention Program
- SunSmart
- Count Me In
- The Victorian WorkWell Toolkit
Aiming to contribute to the economy of the regions in which we work, we strive, wherever possible, to engage local businesses, suppliers, and contractors, and to source local materials so that local communities and businesses can thrive. In accordance with the Victorian Industry Participation Policy, we also look to work with small to medium local enterprises, and to maximise our use of Australian and New Zealand products and services.
Diversity, Equity & InclusivityDiversity, Equity & Inclusivity
We acknowledge our responsibility to our people, to our clients, and to all the contractors and consultants we work with.
BowdenCorp is committed to developing a diverse workforce and fostering a workplace environment in which everyone feels safe, respected, and free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying. We aim, at all times, to embrace people of all backgrounds, ages, and genders, recognising that it’s exactly this diversity of skill and experience that allows us to create such flexible and high performing teams.
BowdenCorp is an equal-opportunity workplace. All hiring decisions are based solely on the individual’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Existing staff also enjoy opportunities for growth, learning, and career advancement. Our management team works collaboratively with our staff members to help identify opportunities for development, enabling our employees to take on more complex roles and greater responsibilities within the business.
